Rain - a welcome relief
The current weather situation in Upper Austria is luckily not a concern for the organisation team in Hinterstoder.
"The rain actually started at the right time. It makes the foundation more compact and therefor reduces the need of irrigation with spray beams.", says Hannes Trinkl about the cloudy skies above Hinterstoder.
The production of artificial snow in December has been perfect. We have managed to produce an ideal coverage of snow through out the whole race course, as well as some snow depots for emergencies., says Helmut Holzinger, HIWU executive director, with confidence.
Further more, the extended weather situation looks promising. We expect cold nights with temperatures below 0C. The course will freeze over night and day time skiers will make the snow more compact, says Hannes Trinkl, hoping for many tourists to visit the ski fields.
